Ethereal Tombs

Die in Minecraft, get your stuff back. A custom-modeled tomb spawns where you died and holds your full inventory, armor, offhand and XP. Interact with it and everything returns to its exact slot — no reorganizing.

Features

  • Exact-slot restoration. Items go back where they were, not in a random pile.
  • Achievements stay enabled. No experimental toggles required.
  • Containers keep their contents. Shulker boxes, bundles and backpack items are stored with everything inside them, nested containers included.
  • Enchantments, custom names, colors, lore and durability preserved.
  • Up to 3 active tombs. Die again before recovering an old one and it stays. Past three, the oldest drops its contents and tells you where.
  • 24-hour lifetime. Chat warning 5 minutes before a tomb expires. If time runs out, contents drop on the ground with the coordinates — your stuff is never lost silently.
  • Owner-only access. Other players cannot loot your tomb.
  • Tomb Key. Crafted with 1 diamond, 3 ender pearls, 1 blaze rod and 2 ghast tears. Right-click to teleport to your nearest tomb, across dimensions if needed. Consumed on use, and not consumed if you have no tomb.
  • Tomb tracking. Hold a Tomb Key to see the distance and direction to your nearest tomb. Minimal on-screen display, mobile and Realm friendly.
  • Death coordinates sent to chat when you respawn.
  • Unbreakable and unpushable. Mobs, pistons and explosions cannot destroy a tomb. Tombs float on water and lava instead of sinking.
  • Realm-tested and stable on long-term multiplayer worlds.
  • Custom PBR model with glowing engravings on RTX or Deferred Rendering.
  • Ambient particle aura around the tomb, with a burst on pickup. Effects only render for nearby players to keep servers light.
  • Oriented to your facing direction at the moment of death.

Requirements

  • Minecraft Bedrock 1.21.50 or newer.
  • RTX or Deferred Rendering recommended for the full PBR look. The tomb works and looks fine without them, just flatter.
  • Do not manually toggle keepInventory. The addon manages it.

Known limitations

  • Armor trims are not preserved. A trim applied to armor is lost when that armor is recovered. The Bedrock scripting API does not expose trim data to addons, so this cannot currently be fixed from the addon side. Material, enchantments, name, lore and durability all come back correctly.
  • XP from an expired tomb is approximate. Recovering a tomb normally restores your exact XP. If a tomb runs out its 24 hours and drops on the ground, XP returns as orbs, which addons cannot set precisely.

If this addon saved your netherite, you can buy me a coffee.

Also by me: Sneak Harvest — crouch + tool for chain harvesting, and Ember Ward — campfires that create safe zones.
