Nico's Mobs is add-on introduces new mobs that spawn naturally in your world. Each mob has unique abilities and distinct loot. Some can be tamed, while others pose a serious threat. All mobs are designed to blend seamlessly with Minecraft's vanilla style. Aside from new mobs, this add-on also adds some new blocks and items.

MOBS:

  • Egg-laying mobs can now lay eggs on Cinnabar, Sulfur, Grassed Blocks, Mossed Blocks, and Myceliated Blocks.
  • Book Curserer:
    • Reduced underground spawn rates.
  • Cave Wolf:
    • Cave Wolves now have multiple sound variants, similar to vanilla Wolves.
    • Tamed Cave Wolves can now be equipped with Wolf Armor.
  • Clurve:
    • Can now also spawn in underwater caves.
  • Cobblestone Golem:

  • Mossy Cobblestone Golem:
    • Increased spawn rates on both the surface and underground.
    • In Lush Caves and Mosshroom Caves, can now also naturally spawn on top of Pale Moss Blocks, Pale Moss Carpets, and other moss-covered blocks.
  • Mushlings:
    • Fixed a bug where they could naturally spawn in the deepslate layer beneath Dark Oak Forests and Mushroom Islands.
  • Opossum:
    • Wild Opossums now have a higher chance to destroy crops.
  • Raven:
    • Wild Ravens now have a higher chance to destroy crops.
  • Sparrow:
    • Can now destroy crops.
  • Squirrel:
    • Wild Squirrels now have a higher chance to destroy crops.
  • Warthog:
    • Will no longer alert nearby Warthogs when it becomes angry.

WORLD GENERATION:

  • Added Jellyfish Polyps vegetation to the ocean floor in all ocean biomes.

ITEMS:

  • Added Bottles of Plankton, crafted using a Water Bottle and Seagrass. They can be consumed, but are primarily used to tempt and breed Jellyfish. They can also be used to make Jellyfish Polyps hatchable.
  • Added Jellyfish Slime in 16 colors:
    • Dropped by Jellyfish of the corresponding color.
    • Can now be thrown, dealing 2–3 damage on impact, with a 10% chance to inflict an additional 1–2 thorns damage to all mobs within a 2-block radius of the impact.

BLOCKS:

  • Added Jellyfish Polyps in 16 colors:
    • Laid by Jellyfish after breeding.
    • Can be found naturally on the ocean floor.
    • Can be either hatchable or non-hatchable.
    • Hatchable Jellyfish Polyps hatch after 20 minutes.
    • Naturally generated Jellyfish Polyps are non-hatchable and emit bubble particles to distinguish them from hatchable ones.
    • Hatchable Jellyfish Polyps can be made non-hatchable by using Sugar on them. They can be made hatchable again using a Bottle of Plankton.
    • Their color can be changed using dyes.
  • Added Jellyfish Slime Blocks in 16 colors.
  • Updated the Jellyfish Slime Block texture.
  • Restored the Iron Block texture.

MOBS:

  • Cursed Mobs:
    • Switched the required item slots for uncursing. The Book of Curses must now be held in the mainhand, while the Cursed Eye must be held in the offhand.
    • The Book of Curses now takes durability damage and no longer consumes the Cursed Eye when uncursing a mob.
    • Cursed mobs now drop XP orbs when uncursed.
  • Cobblestone Golem:
    • Can now naturally spawn on the surface in Windswept Hills, Windswept Gravelly Hills, and Stony Peaks.
    • Can no longer spawn in Lush Caves.
  • Cubes:
    • Mud Cubes are now called Mud Soil Cubes.

    • Dire Bats and Cursed Dire Bats now have separate identifications.
    • Cursed Dire Bats now have curse particle effects.
    • Wild Dire Bats can now naturally spawn on overworld surfaces and underground.
    • Will no longer spawn on ocean surfaces.
  • Flying Books:
    • Enchanted Flying Books can now only transform into Cursed Enchantment Books when the player is holding a Cursed Eye in their mainhand.

    • Jellyfish now have a new appearance, including updated models, animations, and textures.

  • Possible drops: Wheat, Stick, XP Orbs.
  • Avoids (Cursed): Any mob wielding the Curserer Staff.
  • Aggressive toward (Cursed): Players, Corrupted Raven, Iron Golem, Raven, Snow Golem, Traders, Player's aggressive tamed mobs.
  • Aggressive toward (Uncursed): Wild Raven, Corrupted Raven, Cursed Rat, Rabbit, Wild Rat, Wild Squirrel.
  • Equipped weapon: Random Hoe

  • Can sleep during the day.

Add-on Notes

  • Add-on may only be compatible with Minecraft version 26.30 or higher.
  • This add-on is NOT using a 'player.json' file.
  • This add-on is mostly compatible with other add-ons.
  • Add-on will work on the realm or server; just make sure you install the correct files.
  • Add-on is not tested yet on the beta and preview versions of Minecraft, so expect some bugs if you are using those versions.
  • Remove the old packs before installing the new version of the packs.

Installation!

  • Download the 'Nicos Mobs (v1.14).mcaddon', or the seperated packs (Behavior Pack & Resource Pack).
  • Import the packs into Minecraft and wait until the both behavior pack and resource pack are successfully imported.
  • Make sure to install both the behavior pack and resource pack before entering you world.
  • This add-on doesn't need any experimental options to toggle to on.
